How your order is processed at Nightline Delivers
Overview
Clients needing a reliable and trustworthy next day delivery
service between the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain should get in touch with
Nightline. Companies that send packages on a daily basis can also take advantage
of Nightline’s Smartship® barcode service, which allows them to track their items
at every stage.
Day one – the collection:
To start with, a local van operator will arrive at the client’s house or place of
work and collect the parcel. Once the driver has finished his rounds he will take
the items to Nightline’s regional depot where packages are sorted according to destination
and prepared for the rest of the journey.
Day one – evening:
Items are scanned before they leave the regional depot to keep customers updated
on their progress. Once safely stored on board trucks, they travel by road to Nightline’s
national distribution centre, located near Dublin Airport. After being scanned once
again, preparations are made to have them sent on to mainland Britain.
Day two – early morning:
The parcels leave the central depot after being sorted and loaded onto trucks. After
arriving in the Britain, they will be sent to Nightline’s Birmingham depot and then
forwarded on to one of 120 local centres across England, Wales and Scotland.
Day two – morning:
Before long a local courier will arrive at the depot to take the parcels on the
final stage of their journey. They are sorted and scanned for the final time before
reaching their destination. Once a parcel is handed over, the driver will get a
signature from the recipient which acts as proof of delivery. The Smartship® technology
once again allows the customer to keep an eye on the package’s progress and they
will be able to see through the internet that their
parcel delivery to the UK has gone smoothly and the package has been signed
for.
