Safe and timely delivery from Nightline Delivers
The first stage of any delivery process involves a collection. After a customer
with a parcel in the Republic of Ireland calls Nightline, the company organises
for a local firm to collect the package. Businesses that want
next day delivery and regularly use courier services
within Ireland can also benefit from Nightline’s Smartship® barcode device, which
allows them to attach tracking labels to parcels so they can be monitored every
step of the way.
Day one – the collection:
A local van operator collects the package from the customer. It is then driven straight
to a regional Nightline depot where it will be sorted and made ready for the next
part of the journey.
Day one – evening:
Once evening comes the parcels which have been brought to the depot are loaded carefully
onboard lorries and taken to Nightline’s national distribution centre near Dublin
Airport. On arrival the barcodes on the front of the parcels are scanned by employees
and the information automatically appears on the Nightline website. They are again
sorted according to destination and prepared for their onward journey.
Day two – early morning:
By early morning, the parcels have left the central depot and are on their way to
a regional site. The packages will have their barcodes scanned on arrival so clients
know exactly what stage of the delivery process has been reached. If you’re looking
to send parcels to Ireland and want to
track them all the way, there’s no better parcel delivery
service.
Day two – morning:
Before long a local courier will arrive at the regional depot to take the parcels
on the final leg of their journey. They are sorted and scanned for the final time
before reaching their destination. Once a parcel is handed over, the driver will
get a signature from the recipient which acts as proof of delivery. The data is
sent through the employee’s handheld computer and a message is displayed on the
Nightline website to inform the client the package has arrived safely and on time.
