Our delivery process ensures timely and safe delivery of your precious items
Overview:
If you’re looking for a parcel courier firm to deliver your package safely to an
address in Northern Ireland, then talk to Nightline. Businesses often need to check
on the progress of their parcels and so Nightline’s Smartship® barcode service can
come in extremely handy for companies that use courier services to Northern Ireland
every day.
Day one – the collection:
Once an order has been placed with Nightline, the customer’s contact details are
passed to a local van operator who goes and collects the parcel. Business customers
can use Nightline’s Smartship device to attach a traceable barcode to their item
before the courier arrives. They will then be able to track their item’s progress
at critical points along the way. The first time they are scanned is on arrival
at the regional depot - the first stop for any Nightline parcel.
Day one – evening:
After being unloaded, scanned and sorted at the local depot, the parcels are loaded
onto new vehicles and sent on their way to Nightline’s central depot near Dublin
Airport. Once again they are scanned on arrival, sorted and prepared for the next
leg of their journey to Northern Ireland.
Day two – early morning:
The parcels leave the Nightline’s National Distribution Centre and continue their
journey across the border. Just before they go however, they are scanned again to
let the client know exactly what is going on.
Day two – morning:
A local van operator is called upon to transfer the packages from the local depot
in Northern Ireland to their final delivery destination. The parcels are sorted
and scanned one the final time before being handed over in person. At the point
of delivery the driver will ask for a signature from the recipient which acts as
proof of delivery. These details are recorded on a handheld computer and will appear
instantly on the Nightline website, so the client knows their package has arrived
safely and in good time.
